BRAKEACE ANALYSIS

Unparalleled insight into your braking habits, technique and effectiveness.

Think you know your brakes? Think again.

Free speed is at your fingertips.

Imagine if you could see exactly how much, when and where you are using each brake on a trail. Now imagine what you could do with that data to shave seconds off the clock, improve technique and ride with total confidence in your speed control.

With BrakeAce sensors, we can get game-changing data to improve your track times. It’s not about braking less, its about becoming more effective with your brakes.

Your braking data can often highlight other skills or areas that need to be addressed - we’ll be there to point you in the right direction.

Want to ride faster? Tap into free speed with our BrakeAce sessions.

    • Front and rear brake wireless sensors that fit onto your bike like a normal brake adaptor.

    • The sensors measure how much braking force is being applied at any point in time.

    • This is overlaid onto GPS readouts of a track to identify your key opportunities to improve.

    • How much, when and where you are braking.

    • Data is collected on every single brake event over a track.

    • This is then used to analyze front/rear brake balance, effectiveness, your flow score and categorized brake events.

    • Anyone who wants to get faster on a track!

    • For those not racing, this helps people analyze their braking technique, to ride with more confidence in their ability to control their speed.

    • The opportunity to use the latest cutting-edge coaching tools and hardware.

    • We will guide you along the way - helping to analyze your data, identify opportunities to improve, evaluate trail sections and implement changes to your riding.

    • You’ll become aware of your braking habits and know what you need to do to brake more effectively.

BRAKEACE ANALYSIS SESSIONS

Data-driven brake analysis (4 hours)

Session overview:

  • We will personally install our BrakeAce sensors on to your bike.

  • A suitable test track will be chosen - this might be your favourite trail, a trail that mimics a race track, or just something you want to get faster on.

  • The process begins. Ride, analyze, implement changes, ride again. Your progress will be measured along the way.

  • Changes often come in the form of scoping out the sections that your braking data highlights as an opportunity to improve. We’ll session these sections, searching for improvements to implement - these could be changes in line choice, braking zones, braking ratios… there are endless opportunities.

  • After working on a few sections, we’ll run the track again and see the effect of our changes.

  • You’ll come away with knowledge about your riding habits, and how to improve your braking to ride faster.

* Note: We currently only offer this service for bikes that run 220/223mm rotors front and either 203mm or 220/223mm rear. The sensors fit onto a post mount like a normal +20 brake adaptor. For more info, see Terms & Conditions.

    • We will install the sensors for you, 30 mins before your session starts.

    • For ease of repetition, we prefer to use Skyline bike park or Coronet peak.

    • Based on your riding ability, we’ll choose a suitable test track.

    • The rider needs to be 100% comfortable on the track. If it’s too difficult, changes to your braking habits will be difficult.

    • We’ll run a few warm up laps to gather your base-line data.

    • After some analysis, we’ll identify your key opportunities from the BrakeAce software.

    • We’ll then set about creating and implementing a strategy to improve on your key opportunities.

    • We aim to ride as much as we can in the 4 hour session.

    • We’ll be riding/following along with you, so all you need to do is focus on the riding.

    • We’ll remove the sensors and restore your bike back to its original configuration.

    • You’ll have gained valuable insight into your braking habits and what you need to do to improve. Usually, we will have met your goal of riding faster, too.

    • Lift pass for the riding location.

    • Any additional parts. like new pads, rotors.

    • Read these terms in conjunction with our full Terms & Conditions.

    • We firmly believe in the benefits of big rotors. We offer BrakeAce sessions for bikes capable of running 220/223mm rotors front and either 203mm or 220/223mm rear. 200mm rotors will not work on either the front or rear. Check with your bike manufacturer that this is possible before booking.

    • We need a little extra brake hose length to fit the sensors. If your hoses are too tightly trimmed, the sensors may not fit (we don’t recommend the uber-neat approach of trimming brake hoses - it limits set up options too).

    • Your bike and your brakes must arrive clean and in good condition.

    • We cannot guarantee a successful day if your bike or your brake pads, rotors and brake lines are worn out, damaged, contaminated or in need of a system bleed.

    • If in any doubt, we strongly encourage you to visit a bike shop to get your brakes checked before you attend a session.

    • Failing to ensure your equipment is functional may require the session to be cancelled and a refund will not be offered.

    • Customers can opt to take out an additional insurance cover at $20 per session. Without this, customers will be liable for paying our excess charges for replacing damaged equipment (up to $250).

    • It’s best if a rider comes with an open mind and is willing to make changes to their braking. As with any change, it can take some time to get used to them, so keep this in mind when you ride.
